Beatrice Holloway - Playwright and author

So pleased you are visiting my website. Why not browse the pages and learn something about me and my work. In this page I will tell you of my current writing and keep you up to date with my progress. Over the last two years I have been writing children's stories. To date nine tales: six about Rhys and his friends and their adventures circa 1970 in a Welsh village.

In 2015 I was appointed children's storyteller on Hillingdon Narrowboats Association and this has inspired me to research and write about canal life. I have written three books, telling of the times and happenings of Bert Smith a young lad living on a narrowboat early nineteenth century.

Research for these books has led to me being able to give talks on the social history of canal people, in clubs and libraries.

Two of my novels for adults have been re-issued, The Man from the North East and Elusive Destiny, and a third, Archie's children. 2018 saw four short plays published, all of which have been performed before deciding to submit them to the public.

I submitted some articles to a national magazine, these accepted and I was offered a contract, which is quite something! Now I am researching the link between paganism and Christmas traditions, and it is proving to be fascinating. Hopefully, ready for Christmas - watch this space.
